Expectations from the program and your mentor

I would love to meet a mentor who could guide me in the steps I can take within this field. As it is a small field it is also crucial to gain connections with others within the field and network in order to be able to achieve my goals.

Short term goals (1-2 years)

To enter into a biomedical engineering company/start-up and gain experience

Studying Biomedical Engineering at UWA, currently doing Masters of Professional Engineering. I have also been volunteering at the children’s hospital to gain experience in a medical environment.

Long term goals (3+ years)

My long term goals would be to create products that help those with medical conditions to have a better quality of life.

Strengths and Weaknesses

I believe my strengths to be my ambition, as I am really passionate about biomedical engineering, it is a field that excites me and I have a big drive to really make a difference within it. I also think my strengths are problem solving and organisation. I think my weakness includes being unsure of exactly what path I want to follow, which results in me trying to do too much or overloading myself in order to figure it out. This sometimes leads to me not being able to put my best into something, as I do not have enough time. I believe mentoring will really help me with this and guide me into how to go about this in a better way, rather than spreading myself too thin.
