Multimedia Editor

Mentor it Forward

Are you passionate about visual and audio storytelling, and skilled at transforming raw media into engaging, meaningful content?

Mentor it Forward (MiF) is looking for an experienced and creative Multimedia Editor to join our team on a volunteer basis, with a part-time commitment.

In this role, you'll take the lead in producing MiF’s podcast — while also supporting a variety of other media-related needs, from video snippets to photo enhancements. Your work will play a key part in how we capture and share the voices, stories, and impact of our community — and help grow awareness around our mission to empower professionals and promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Time Commitment: Approximately 2–4 hours per week, offering flexibility and meaningful contribution around your own schedule.

As a Multimedia Editor at MiF, you will be responsible for editing and refining audio, video, and photo materials to ensure they meet high-quality standards and align with our brand identity. You’ll work closely with our Content and Events teams to produce assets for use across social media, digital platforms, and internal communications. A major part of your role will be managing the production of MiF’s podcast — from editing to preparing clips for distribution — while also supporting our broader visual storytelling efforts. This role is remote, but we require applicants to reside in Australia and hold either Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Podcast Editing & Production: Edit and enhance podcast episodes, including trimming audio, improving quality, and preparing assets for digital platforms.

  • Video & Photo Editing: Refine visual media such as short videos, reels, and event photos to create polished and cohesive assets.

  • Asset Management: Organise and maintain a shared library of audio-visual assets for use across MiF channels.

  • Brand & Quality Assurance: Ensure all visual and audio materials align with MiF’s brand and meet quality standards.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with the Content and Events teams to support storytelling and marketing efforts through visual and audio formats.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in editing audio and visual media (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Audacity, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, etc.)

  • Strong creative eye and sound judgement for storytelling and brand consistency

  • Ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines

  • Excellent communication and willingness to collaborate across teams

  • A passion for community-driven impact and MiF’s mission.

What’s in It for You?

By joining MiF, you’ll become part of a passionate, purpose-led team committed to making a real social impact. This role offers an opportunity to refine your creative and technical skills, grow your portfolio, and connect with a community of professionals who care deeply about mentorship, equity, and empowerment. Your work will bring MiF’s stories to life — and help expand our reach and resonance.

Please note: We deeply respect the time and effort each applicant invests in applying, and in return, we commit to providing personalised feedback to every candidate.

At MiF, we value every volunteer’s unique skills and experiences. Even if you don't meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply and share your story with us.

We look forward to reviewing your application and potentially welcoming you to our team.
