Mentor it Forward (MiF) is looking for an experienced and driven Social Media & PR Specialist to join our team on a volunteer basis, with a part-time commitment. In this role, you'll help shape MiF’s online voice, engage our community, and create compelling narratives that drive social change. Your contributions will boost brand awareness, attract partners, and amplify MiF’s mission of empowering professionals and promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI).
Time Commitment: Approximately 2-4 hours per week, allowing you to make a significant impact while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
As a Social Media & PR Volunteer at MiF, you will be responsible for managing and growing our social media channels, engaging with our audience, and handling public relations efforts. You'll work closely with our leadership team to develop compelling content, maintain consistent messaging, and forge strong relationships with media outlets and partners. While this role can be done remotely, applicants are expected to reside in Australia, holding an Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Execute Social Media Strategies: Create and schedule engaging posts that resonate with our audience and reflect MiF’s mission.
Community Engagement: Monitor interactions, respond to comments, and build relationships with followers to cultivate an active online community.
Public Relations: Craft press releases and manage media outreach to share MiF’s initiatives and successes with a broader audience.
Brand Consistency: Ensure all communications adhere to MiF’s brand guidelines and core values.
Collaboration: Work with other teams to integrate social media and PR efforts into overall marketing and event campaigns
Qualifications:
Proven experience in social media management or public relations, preferably within the non-profit sector.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft engaging and clear narratives.
Solid understanding of digital trends and social media platforms.
Creative, proactive, and detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Passion for social impact and a strong commitment to MiF’s mission.
